Thursday Talks on Zoom

30 - 40 minute talks on different, interesting topics, taking place once or twice a month

Thursday 13 May at 2pm – Anxiety Management and Coming out of Lockdown

In support of Mental Health Awareness Week – 10-16 May 2021, Keri Lawrence from Burton and District Mind talks to us about Anxiety Management, the signs and symptoms of panic attacks and how to manage these.  What’s worrying you about coming out of lockdown with some self-help ways to manage these feelings and worries.

Thursday 10 June at 2pm – Moira Furnace & Country Park

Set in open parkland, alongside a stretch of the Ashby Canal and wrapped up in the heart of the National Forest, Moira Furnace is the most well preserved blast furnace in the country, dating back to 1806. Rescued from demolition and restored, it serves as an outstanding landmark with a surprisingly interesting museum nestled inside.

Learn some history and interesting facts about  this wonderful local landmark and the surrounding area.  A lovely place for strolls or a narrowboat trip along the Ashby Canal or enjoy time amongst nature in the Country Park too.

Talk kindly provided by a volunteers at Moira Furnace and Country Park -

An email containing a Zoom link to join the talks will be emailed out on the Wednesday before the talk date, for those registered with Hospice Hope as service users, carers, volunteers or staff.
